The Honorable Bernd Vohringer
Oberburgermeister
Stadt Sindelfingen
Rathausplatz 1
D-71063 Sindelfingen
Germany
Dear
Mayor Vohringer:
I
want to thank you for your support of and participation in the
memorial service held
in Sindelfingen to honor the Americans and international citizens
who lost their lives
on September 11, 2001.
I
also appreciate your support of the establishment of the Detroit
House at the
Sindelfingen Market Square, next to your City Hall. It is my hope
that this house, as
part of the art exhibition being staged by the Art Institute of
Sindelfingen and the Art
Society Kunst+Projekte Sindelfingen, will improve public knowledge
of and
appreciation for the City and the people of Detroit. Enclosed
is the requested
symbolic statement of my support for the flying of the Detroit
Tricentennial flag at
the Detroit House.
The
overwhelming response of international leaders like yourself to
the September 11
attacks have proven the size and strength of the worldwide community
which is
dedicated to peace and understanding among cities and nations.
The friendship of the
people of Sindelfingen is much appreciated.
With
warm regards,
Dennis
W. Archer
Mayor
